Apollo Sunshine, not in your top 10, never heard of them, skeptical of listening to new music? Well check them out. They played AfterHours, A Club at Northeastern University’s Student Center tonight and rocked the pants of the any and everyone that attended this underpublicized rare gem of a show. They played with three other local acts starting with The Demons of Stupidity followed by Todd Thisbaud and lastly The Shoebox Bankers. The Night stated off quite slow not opening the doors until close to 9:30 but when all is said and done was of course worth the wait.

Do your walls look a little too plain for comfort? Well why not decorate them with some vintage concert posters. What better way to greet your guests then by showing them what bands you love and by showing off some world class art work. Most posters (like the one shown) are silk-screened. It used to be that you could only buy these puppies at concerts or trade them at your local independent music retailer but since of course now they can be found online. They can either be bought directly from the Artists or from online retailers, some popular sites are -
retailers -
http://www.gigposters.com/ – This site is one of the biggest collection I’ve seen out there, they provide links to sites where you can find and purchase most of the posters features. It will be hard to find an artist touring that doesn’t have a poster on this site.
http://www.concertposters.com/ – You can most likely guess form the site name alone that this site has more than their share of concert posters. Not as good as gigposters in my opinion.
http://www.ebay.com/ – Speaks for itself, check here for some good deals, once in a while you can find a steal otherwise buyer beware.
Artist -
http://www.emek.net/ – One of my favorite artists
http://www.taramcpherson.com/ – Does a lot of indie artists posters, mostly for smaller venues
http://www.patentpendingindustries.com/site/posters_galleries.php – stunning artwork, started in 2000 does artwork for artists on many great independent labels, (i.e. Sub Pop Records, Up Records, Sonic Boom)
& of course there are much more, do some research, there’s a poster out there for everyone, who knows maybe you’ll even find a show you’ve been to!
